About Me

With my pals, Belle and Katelyn, prior to taping Buddy Dog’s segment on WBZ’s Pet Parade.

I am a Reiki Master/Practitioner and received my upper-level training at Newton-Wellesley Hospital (NWH) where I am one of the original volunteers in the NWH Reiki Program. I received my animal Reiki training with Kathleen Prasad of the Animal Reiki Source. Prior to opening The Relaxed Pet in 2014, I was employed at Harvard University for over 20 years. I received a B.A. from Framingham State University and a Master’s degree from the Harvard University Extension School. As a lifelong animal lover, it has been a great joy to share my home with many pets. My family currently includes 2 ferrets and a cat.

Over the years I have engaged in many volunteer activities, several enabling me to pursue my passion for helping animals. One of my most rewarding and long-lasting volunteer experiences has been at Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA, where I have helped care for dogs since 2007. When I received my initial Reiki training in 2009 to offer relief to one of my senior ferrets, I was also pleased to have the opportunity to begin offering Reiki to help the animals at Buddy Dog. My commitment to helping shelter and rescue pets continues to grow and I have also developed special interests in helping pets transition to their new homes, and helping senior and hospice pets facing quality of life issues.

My experiences at Buddy Dog and my commitment to helping animals led me to open The Relaxed Pet. With The Relaxed Pet, I look forward to helping clients maintain and improve the well-being and quality of life of  their beloved companions through the restorative, soothing, and healing benefits of Reiki.
